Just Getting Started isn’t just the name of our podcast, it’s a mindset, a movement, and a mantra. We invite you to embrace the idea that no matter your age or stage, there is always more to discover, more to feel, and more to become.

Hi, I’m Helen.

I began my career as a professional model in Europe, but it was behind the lens where I found my true calling. For over 30 years, I’ve photographed actors, celebrities, corporate leaders, and families, capturing people not just as they look, but as they are. I've had the honour of working with Chris Noth, Gordon Ramsay, Carrie‑Anne Moss, Jason Isaacs, Colin Mochrie, Scott Speedman, and Supermodel Monika Schnarre.

My work has been featured on CBC Television, Breakfast Television, Fashion Television, Global, Discovery Channel’s Behind the Lens, and in an upcoming documentary called The Gray Zone, which explores how women choose to age.

What I’m most passionate about now is Sundari Women, a portrait series that celebrates women over 40 and redefines the way we see aging. It began as a personal project and grew into a sold-out coffee table book, countless conversations, and media features that proved how hungry women are to be seen in an empowered light.

That same passion led me to Mt. Our friendship was instant, rooted in honesty, shared values, and deep conversations about life, growth, aging, and everything in between. We knew we wanted to do something with it. So we started The Helen & Mt Podcast, a space where we turn our personal life lessons, heartbreaks, joys, and wisdom into meaningful conversations that celebrate reinvention and remind people that no matter where you are in life… you’re JUST GETTING STARTED

Hi, I’m Mt.

I’m the founder of La Closette and have spent over 20 years in the fashion industry as a stylist, former model, and fashion merchandiser. My work is rooted in the belief that style should be accessible to everyone, no matter your shape, size, or budget. I’ve had the privilege of helping people from all walks of life feel confident in their clothing and in themselves.

My background is a blend of creativity and care. Before launching La Closette, I earned a BScN from McMaster University and spent over a decade as a registered nurse specializing in public health, mental health, and eating disorders. That time taught me how deeply our relationship with ourselves affects every part of our lives, including how we dress, show up, and express who we are.

In fashion, I’ve worked with individuals, retailers, and designers, offering everything from one-on-one styling to corporate presentations and market consulting. I bring a practical eye to wearable, current style, and I love helping people discover how good it feels to truly see themselves reflected in their wardrobe.

But one of the most meaningful turns in my journey was meeting Helen. Our friendship was instant, filled with heartfelt conversations, shared values, laughter, and a deep desire to support others in finding their voice as they age. That connection sparked the idea for The Helen & Mt Podcast, a place where we bring our stories, our decades of experience, and our real, honest conversations to life. We talk about aging, reinvention, heartbreak, growth, and joy, because we believe we’re all JUST GETTING STARTED
